What is the film about?

Project Iceman is the odyssey of an ordinary human setting out to achieve the extraordinary.

After checking all the boxes of comfort and success of what “you’re supposed to do in life", Anders Hofman attempts to become the first-ever human to complete a long-distance triathlon in Antarctica (2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, 26.2-mile run), the Iceman, to prove that limitations are perceptions.

Yes Theory was created in 2015 as a digital media brand built around a YouTube Channel that believes that the best things in life exist outside of your comfort zone.

Yes Theory today has more than 14 million subscribers across channels with a global audience with ~1/3 from North America, Europe, and Rest of the World.

With Seek Discomfort as their mission, Yes Theory has created digital content at the highest caliber of storytelling and has, throughout the last 7 years, built one of the strongest and most active communities across YouTube, having worked with brands such as Google, Headspace, YouTube Originals and founded a lifestyle brand also called Seek Discomfort with over 200,000 customers in North America alone.

In 2019, Yes Theory’s pursuit for long-form storytelling began with creating “Frozen Alive” and
“The Lost Pyramid”, grossing over 25 million views.

The same year, Yes Theory introduced Anders Hofman (the protagonist of the film) in a YouTube video, launching his mission to the world. This video now has +2.6 million views and a massive amount of anticipation for what happens next.

FUN FACTS!

On the sail-out to the swim start, the team, unknowingly, was met by leopard seals, the number one predator in Antarctica, several times, which was caught on camera and drone footage from land. Luckily, nothing happened during the 1:10 hours it took Anders to finish the 2.4 mile swim.

It took Anders 72 hours and 54 minutes to finish the Iceman as the team was caught in a blizzard with winds up to 93 mph after 44 hours that had the team isolated in tents and battling for their lives for 27 hours until Anders could finish the last 12.5 miles

The bike itself took Anders 33.5 hours to complete on a fat bike due to slushy snow. That’s an average pace of 3.4 mph.

It took Anders 3 months to recover from the physical exhaustion of the Iceman and due to frostnip (first stage of frost bites) the feelings in his toes didn’t come back until 5 months after the Iceman

Anders burned over 30,000 calories during the Iceman (a person burns 2,600 calories on average during a marathon).

The crew was 10 people sailing to Antarctica on a yacht from Ushuaia, Argentina. It takes 3-5 days to sail across the notorious Drake passage to get to Antarctica.

The Iceman ran during February 2020, the team was without internet and got back to ‘civilization’ on March 13, when Covid-19 shut down society.

TESTIMONIALS

Incredibly POWERFUL and thoroughly motivational. A MUST watch. —
Project Iceman is not just any documentary. What makes it remarkable is how deep we get to dive into Anders' journey, his motivation and his struggles. The decision to make this film independently meant that it remained real, raw and brutally honest. The story-telling comes from the heart and you can tell that the message of the film meant so much, not only to Anders (The Iceman) and Ammar (the director) but also to the entire crew.

Project Iceman will have you on the edge of your seat, it will have you laughing, crying and everything in between but most importantly - it will leave you wanting more from life and will open up a whole new way of looking at things that may have always seemed 'impossible'.
